Why?
- All of the clay sold at Marinette Clay Corner is designed for mid-fire applications (cone 5), our club standard "high" fire. You may not use any clay purchased outside the club without specific permission from a member of the Kiln team. This is important because other clay may be made for lower or higher temperatures, and can damage our kilns.
- All of the clay sold at our club is food safe. Other clay may be toxic if used for food.

Name: B Mix White WC401
Supplier: Laguna Description: Its smooth, porcelain texture is a pleasure to throw and form, and it fires to a cream color in oxidation.
Name: B Mix with Speckles
Supplier: Laguna WC408 Description: A smooth porcelain stoneware that is very plastic and workable.This clay prefers slow drying and ample compression on rims and bottoms to avoid cracks. This has the same working qualities as regular B Mix, but with speckles.

Supplier: Laguna Description: This is a good, general purpose clay that works well for all forming methods. Specks generally bleed into glazes. 60 mesh sand gives a medium texture.

Supplier: Aardvark - Description: A medium grit black body without the issues of bloating. Works well with most glazes and provides a beautiful black base for decoration.

Supplier: Laguna WC365 Description: AA red, slightly coard clay with excellent working properties for wheel throwing and hand building. It is talc-free and contains sand, making it suitable for medium sized forms.

Supplier: Laguna Description: A medium sized grog version of our popular Cone 5 B Mix clay body with the addition of Red clay to achieve a warm Orange Brown color. Very forgiving during drying and good for forming larger sized objects.

Name: Speckled Buff WC403
Supplier: Laguna Description: Clay body specifically formulated by request from Midwest and Eastern U.S. potters. Low in sand and grog content, speckled buff is smooth textured. An excellent throwing body. The color palette is perhaps best described as 'desert' or 'Southwest'. Fired in oxidation, Speckled Buff falls into the tan/brown color range. Characteristics

Supplier: Aardvark - Description: Fired Shrinkage is 12.5% and Water Absorption is 6% when fired to cone 5. A very warm orange-red Terra-cotta colored cone five stoneware. While the clay is textured, it feels very smooth while throwing or hand building. The blend of color, tooth, and work-ability you have been looking for. Name: WS 5 WC 397
Supplier: Laguna Description: A gray/white body with fine sand. Fires a textured gray/white when reduced and a buff/white mottled surface in oxidation. Care should be taken when used for functional ware, not totally vitrified in most Cone 5 firings.
